C.A. Leuze GmbH + Co. KG, located in Owen, planned to update their logistical processes and storage facilities to ensure future developments. After extensive strategic deliberation regarding the existing locations in Owen and Unterlenningen, and taking into account the expected global developments, the decision was made to build a new distribution center at the Unterlenningen location. In addition to the logistical considerations for the location in Owen (reuse of the logistical areas that became available), we implemented the project for the new construction of the distribution center, from the process and layout planning up to commissioning. 

Technical parameters:    

32,500 spaces in the small parts warehouse for shuttling, capacity increase to 61,750 spaces possible through stacked flat containers, 2 aisles with 5 shuttle vehicles each, system performance of 260 double cycles/hour, 3 multifunctional picking stations
